Bathrooms collect soap residue, water marks and everyday grime in a small space. A clear order makes the work easier and helps you avoid re-cleaning the same surfaces.
Start with air and supplies
Run the bathroom fan or open a window when conditions allow. Read every product label before use, especially on stone, painted surfaces or specialty finishes. Never mix bleach with another cleaner, including vinegar or ammonia-based products. Health Canada warns that these combinations can release toxic gases. See its cleaning product safety advisory.
Work from top to bottom
- Clear counters and shelves so you can reach the surfaces.
- Dust vents, corners and reachable upper areas.
- Clean mirrors, sinks and taps with products suitable for their finish.
- Work through the shower or tub and reachable tile. Give buildup the time recommended on the product label.
- Clean the toilet with dedicated tools.
- Finish with the floor, then return clean items.
Use separate cloths for the toilet and other surfaces. If a stain appears to be in damaged grout or sealant, cleaning may improve its appearance without repairing the material.
For a bathroom that needs more time than a regular visit allows, request deep cleaning and tell us which areas need priority.
